Is it your left hip?

Did this happen as a result of vaults when bending the pole or stiff pole?

The hip bruise could be caused by not keeping down pressure on the pole causing it to undbend too early in the vault. I know that is the reason for the forearm bruise. Which at this stage in your vaulting is not a bad thing, As the closeoff becomes more efficient and comfortable this will happen less and less.

Just concentrate on keeping your top hand moving throughout the vault.
