tell your coach that you guys need some warm up jumps before you go to your full run. if you dont take the time to do short runs on soft poles, your confidence level probably wont be high enough and youll have a harder time keepin a consistent run. pretty much if you dont start off with at least a couple short runs your more likely to get injured cause your runs off or your not warmed up or somethin stupid like that.
oh and tell him a lot of this advice comes from Earl Bell, prob one of the best coaches in the nation. I'm sure your coach has heard of him.

maybe you should start earlier so you can finish some warm up jumps. :dazed:

heh do you know who jeff hartwig is (by now prob over 100 competitions jumping over 19' and the best vaulter in america atm)? well earl bell coaches him. i actually took a 24 hour bus ride just to get to the guys camp cause hes that good.

I think that Trey was being sarcastic. It's a rather rampant characteristic of these forums (but it's always in good fun).

We ALL know who Earl Bell and Jeff Hartwig are, and we ALL know that Jonesboro is the American pole vaulter's equivalent of Mecca.

how are you gunna vault if your coach doesn't beleve in short runs. you only do 7 rights! :yes:
