From beginner to Bubka - and Isinbayeva too!

Unread postby altius » Mon Dec 24, 2007 1:10 am

This book - all 320 pages and four hundred plus illustrations - will be available at the end of January from
Becca at pvp
Ron Morris - at ron@ontrackand field.com
Sean Brown - at Neovault.com

For $60 plus postage - but all three will have special offers I am sure.

My special offer is that for one week only - the period I will be in Oregon- it will be possible to get signed copies through Rick Baggett at Baggettpv@aol.com. Contact him with all your details and we will get the book off to you by Jan 26th. Clubs west of Chicago can apply for a wholesale rate for 30 books or more.

Note that this is not simply a slightly revised version of the original btb although it contains the same message - namely that the Petrov/Bubka model is the best method of pole vaulting yet devised for anyone of any age, size or shape.

Seriously old son - Chapter Seven alone is worth the money but you will find the gymnastic chapter superb. Also previously unseen -by you anyway - sequences of Bubka/Tarasov/Markov/Gibilisco/Yelena!!

Anyway it will provide you with a good vehicle to plagiarise when you write your own book in the next couple of years!

Haha i doubt that will happen. By then we will be using time-released carbon fiber poles that begin as a 150 pole and become a 300 during the jump ;). Opens up a whole new technical model.

But seriously, that sounds really cool. So theres a lot more application to go along with the technical aspect as well. Pretty cool, ill THINK about checking it out ;). Merry Christmas

Sorry everyone, Alan is back in Adalaide. No more signed copies until maybe in June when he comes back. Maybe you should think about coming out to spend some time with him. He will be at my place the last weekend in May. Great teaching, great coaching...
