I have a female vaulter of mine who may have strained a muscle in the upper area in her top arm and its been bothering her when she jumps , so I've given her some time off to rest it. She tweaked it again the other day and while she isn't jumping I'd still like her to get some practice in to help her cover the pole/finish her swing. That's her biggest problem right now.
What drills could I have her work on to help her cover the pole better but not put any strain on the hurt muscle? thanks in advance.

Wow. That's a tough one. Both of those areas you want practiced involve being supported by the top arm. So the drills I normally would recommend are probably not appropriate.
Doing a back somersault with extension may be able to be done carefully, limiting how hard you push, without additional injury. I think it can help with covering the pole because it teaches that motion and getting fully vertical. This link will take you to a drill on the Pole Vault Education Initiative you might try. While there, look around at other "Drill of the Month" entries.
