Washingtonville senior Stephanie Duffy hopes to bring home a state pole vault title on Saturday, but just in case she's going to cross her fingers.
"I should have probably won two, but weird things always happen to me at states,'' she says. "I am hoping for a big jump.''
Strange things do happen, but even an "ordinary" jump should be good enough for Duffy to take home gold from Cornell University. She is a prohibitive favorite at indoor states with no competitor seeded within 18 inches of her.
