Derek Solarski, Amarillo High: Is coming off a personal-best of 15-6 in winning regional pole vault title. That ties him for third in a field in which two went 16-0 at regionals. Will need to hit another 15-6, with limited misses, to be in the medal hunt.
Blake Yosten, Hereford: Yosten has improved on his personal best the last three meets in the pole vault, finishing second at regionals at 14-9. That ranks him fifth in the field in which four have gone beyond 15 feet and two are at 16-3.
