Holliday impressive on track with second in 400
For all the athletes who competed in "off events" at the Preview, few performances were more impressive than Becky Holliday's second-place finish in the 400.
Holliday, the Ducks' school record-holder in the pole vault (14-8), was clocked in 57.11 seconds. The former two-time all-American and 2003 NCAA champion trailed only Emily McMahon, who won in 56.05.
"I didn't remember how to get out of the blocks," Holliday said. "I was just trying to run hard."
She also placed sixth in the 200 in 25.63 seconds.
Holliday set an indoor pole vault PR of 14-5 this year, and she expects to make her outdoor debut in the pole vault at the Oregon Invitational in late April.

Becky's 400 and 200 times
Becky has run 55.25 and 25.12 for both events. She ran them while at Clackamas CC the season she jumped 14'4" for the National JC record. Pretty good for just a pole vaulter. Remember, Skipper performed 8 of the 10 events for the decathalon during his 4 years at Sandy HS using the vault as his main event. Scoring in 6 of them at the state meet.
