not sure if anyone touched on this but, you're eligibility clock doesnt start until you enroll in 12 units at a college.... no matter what college it is, JC, D1, DII, DIII.....

thats why lots of kids at BYU start older.....They go on a mission about a year out of high school.... do that for two years, so when they actually START college they're 20/21 years old.... add 5 years.... they're 25/26 maybe even 27 when graduating!!!!! but they're following the rules, no matter how unfair we think it is.....

that is true they are following all the rules. a lot of the same thing happens with foreign recruiting too. just frustrating for some of us sometimes when your junior competing against guys 4 years older than you

uh, i just checked out your vault team's website and all of your athletes have redshirted, seemingly to gain the same sort of "advantage" that you are complaining about. a redshirt senior against a true freshman is 4 years older as well.

now, if i find out that all of those older dudes are just taking ballroom dancing then i might have to take issue with it. but instead i leave you with this quote:

"lots of people go to college for seven years."

"yeah, they are called doctors." :P

well heres the breakdown with redshirting for us

Joe - During december his freshman year he was playing hacki sack in the dorm and kicked the dorm frame breaking a bone in his foot.

Adam - while at syracuse had incredible back pain, transferred here and we found out that one of his vertibrae was now 2 pieces that were no longer touching.

Me - i redshirted my outdoor season freshman year after the death of my friend because i wasn't sure if i wanted to even continue jumping. and then my junior year i got a stress fracture in my femur and was out for 10 weeks indoors

we didn't really choose our redshirts they just happened.

also all 3 of us are engineers

and

a freshman vs a senior who are 4 years apart is a lot different than a junior vs a junior who are 4 years apart
