What are the junior olypics like?

News about national level high school pole vaulting, pole vaulters, rules, etc. Things that are of local interest only should go in the regional forums below. High schoolers wanting to chat should go to the High School Lounge.

What are the junior olypics like?

Hey, im a junior this year and this summer i am goin to participate in the junior olympics. I live in illinois and i know my regional is in lyle and the nationals are in Indianna if i make it that far, but i was wondring what the junior olympics are like to be in, any info would be great!

You should do Junior Olympics. Last year they were in Eugene, Oregon and I had a blast. Great place to vault. Everyone at JO's were all really nice. Good luck, keep us posted! :yes:

well in oklahoma we have district and state but some just have state and you have to be top 6 (i think) in state the you get to go to regionals again top six go to JO its really fun I would suggest it i didnt go all the way last year but I went to regionals

USATF.org

That should give you a link to your area. You have to go to a USATF qualifying meet, here its at a district level, then regional. I think the top two advance, not sure though.

I bet on their site you can find out info for your area.

The summer AAU programs and USATF programs are GREAT! If you can get into one I highly recommend it. In the East Tennessee area there are several programs. If you are interested check out the Knoxville Track Clubs site www.ktc.org. I (and probably agapit) will be coaching the pole vault here in Knoxville.

But I highly recommend the summer programs to anyone who wants to learn properly, improve, or just have a ball!!!
