We need for everyone to remember Chris Steddum in their prayers. Chris has been traveling competing in meets and had a wreck this morning avoiding a dog. He rolled his vehicle multiple times and got his arm chewed up by the pavement. From what I was told he should recover ok but was pretty shaken up by it. It could have been a great deal worse. His parents are headed from TX to MO to be with him. I'll update you when I have more.
If you are not familiar with Chris, he graduated from South Carolina last year, he still lives and trains here, and has a personal best of 5.50m (18' 0.5"). He has been competing unattached and with our club this year. As anyone who knows him will tell you, he is not just a great vaulter, he is a great young man with a bright future ahead of him.

Chris should be back in Texas by now with his family for a couple of weeks recovering. It'll be a spell before he can vault again, but hopefully sometime this summer. His girlfriend says, "Thanks for all of your prayers".
His poles did not fare as well. It will take some time to replace them. In the meantime I have an extra set that I hope will work for him.
