Almost a year...

I started vaulting halfway through the season freshman year. I've had about 9 months of practice and I'm vaulting 11' 6". I know I have room for improvement, but do you think if i keep at it i can be a competitive senior?

I jumped 8'6" as a freshman. Jumped 16'6" my senior year....so yea...i'd say you're on track if not ahead of the curve. Just stick with it and try and find yourself a good coach and you can do anything.
