Unread postby jmayesvaultmom » Thu Feb 27, 2003 11:39 am

What is their reasoning or philosophy behind this? :dazed:
That's Jodie!!

A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....

Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

short pegs

Unread postby dubjones » Thu Feb 27, 2003 3:20 pm

I don't think they are talking about making the pegs even shorter, just discussing the current (55cm) rule.

High jump standards (pegs?) are not affected by this rule.

I don't have my rule books with me, but there are some items that need to be clarified. I am not sure what the new rules are for cross bar ends. I belive, but am not sure, that colegiate/HS bars can still have square ends, but that the IAAF rule requires that there be only 1 flat surface.
I'll look into that tommrow, but if someone knows the answer fell free to let the rest of us know.

Next thing you know, they'll make you jump with shorter poles...with weights around your ankles....blindfolded!

Eric Eshbach

Whoa Nellie! Eric Eshbach @ 5.53M/18-01.75! Last year Eric’s performances started to fade toward the end of the indoor season. This year he appears to be peaking at just the right time! Was well over 18-01.75!

Arkansas Women Vaulters

Unread postby vaultfan » Sun Mar 02, 2003 11:30 pm

Those Arkansas women really put up some impressive marks placing 1-2-3 at the SEC conference meet in Gainesville.

Stacie Manual -- 13-08.25
April Steiner -- 13-05
Jennifer Culp -- 13-05

Makes you wonder what they will do for an encore in Fayetteville! :D
