Only orange Skypole I've ever come across was a training pole. Thin mandrel, like maybe an 18, thick extruded glass, not wrapped, foam-filled training pole, 12' long. PVPhD on here had one at Cortland I used to jump on - looked like it was built either late 70's or early 80's. Bruce Caldwell would probably know - looked exactly like his Fibersport orange electrical conduit/low modulus foam-filled training poles from back in the day. Paul Richards or Jan would also probably know.

ORANGE POLES Great discussion around Halloween

ORANGE POLES Great discussion around Halloween
I have heard of orange 10' and 11' poles hollow that were made from polyester crossabrs with other brand labels on them???
Not a vaulting pole if it bends not sure who felt that was safe?

Orange poles with foam in them or gray ones all training poles from my discovery. 1969-1992

Some sold to Gill, some came from Jan's they are all ok with a short approach or 1/2 approach to reduce load so the vaulter will not blow through.
Sad it was a great training aid that was presented as the reason people went out the back of the pits when it was the pits that were too short in the back.
A great tool banned due to a misconception by someone who wanted insure they hit me where my profit and market share was.

Any ideas

I have a 13' Orange Skypole foam core trainer that was stuck up in the rafters of a storage room for decades. After removing several layers of tape and cleaning all of the old glue off, I now have a very clean trainer. The problem is that there is not a single mark on the pole as to any kind of weight rating. Does anybody know if the 13 foot trainer only came in one weight range ie (135-155)??????

Any and all help would be great.

Thanks,

Scott Hendrickson

I cannot speak for GILL's rating.

ALL mine had engraved markings
BUT the orange trainers with foam were made 13' and would be a half run short approach 130-145 test pole.

POLE must be used with short run and regulation size PV system
