Take-off inside
Take-off outside
Over grip your pole
Never replace the pole tip
Kick the pole during the swing
Never catch your vaulting pole
Flex the pole in the vaulting box
Drive the box and sit on the pole
Never progress to the next stiffness pole
Jump on a pole that is below your weight
Slam the pole against the standards every time
Leave the pole out to be stepped on by spiked shoes
Let someone else use your pole with poor vaulting skills
Take too many lefts (rights for lefties) beyond your ability
Continue to jump on a pole that is spiked, scratched, or cracked

Ways to break poles
Let a football player come over, grab a pole, and say, "I bet I can do that!"
Even if you tell them "You break it you buy it"... they will still do it anyway and will never pay for the pole!

That's Jodie!!
A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....
Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

other methods to improve your chances of breakage
1. Leave them in sun for the summer, so they get all yellow and dry
2. Do not carry them in protective cases
3. Use a pole with no spiral wrap (so it has a lighter carry weight)
4. Jump on poles with knicks or spike marks
5. Don't jump up at take-off to help bend the pole more
6. Jump on large mandral poles with thin walls so that the buckeling effect is enhanced.
7. Run from too far on too small a pole
8. Get a tap
9. Tie them on your car with towels (especially large bundles).

I assume you are saying no tape on the pole not that the pole has to be a spiral wrap pole ie: skypole/pacer?LOL
