OG WPV qualifying - Several surprises!
I will be posting live updates here and on Twitter: @polevaultpower
Live makes and misses should be at http://www.iaaf.org/ and numerous other sites.
Live video should be at nbcolympics.com if you are one of the privileged who have access. Otherwise you can try to use a proxy server to watch on the BBC or other international feed. Google it, I do not have the knowledge/time/energy to explain how to do that.
I will do my best to keep everyone updated even if they do not have access to any video!

Re: OG WPV qualifying - Live updates will be here!
I posted start lists and some previews here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24295
The top 12 or so will make finals. The auto standard is 4.60. I believe Isinbayeva will enter at that height, I doubt anyone else is that bold, and it probably won't take that high to make finals. They'll take at least 12 to finals, if there is a tie at that 12th height they usually take the people that tied, so there are usually ~12-15 in the final.
The weather forecast is:
Partly cloudy early followed by increasing clouds with showers developing later in the day. High 72F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
So it should be pretty dry for the qualifying round, though you never know.
I think it will take 4.50 or 4.55 to make finals, but there might be enough in that people have to jump at 4.60.
Meatgrinder? Remember that they do not get any warmups once the competition starts.

Yup. You still have to log in through a cable provider though, it's not available to everyone.

It didn't ask for a cable provider for the first 4 hours of viewing!

The girls are all bundled up and covering their poles. The announcers said it is dry at the moment but threatening to sprinkle.

You can't tell from the official website who is passing, but it shows Abiko and Caballero will jump first at 4.10.

Still no activity from the makes/misses or the video... Has anyone seen a PV-only video feed?
Oh wait, it looks as though Caballero and Pena have missed their first attempts at 4.10m.
