carbon fiber

im a junior and my spring season has just begun last year i jumped 13" on a spirit 12' 6" which i dont know i guess was impressive it was my first season ever vaulting but my coach is buying me a pole and im worried about it cause its a carbon fiber one and im just wondering if its gonna be different i guess and im also wondering if buying a new pole is alot to spend on one athelete? he said i can take it to college with me... can i just get your guys thoughts on all this? thanks

That is impressive since Spirit doesn't normally make 12'6 poles...

What size is the new pole? That is going to matter a lot more than the material. And what size was your old pole?

my bad im a spirit 13'6 now it must have been a sky pole than maybe? im not a 100% it was lime green, give me a break though im still basically a newb to all this i wasnt really concerned as to the pole i was on at the time just getting over that next height:)

as far as the new pole however its a 15' gill carbon fx weave im excited but a little nervous obiously im not going to choke all the way back on the pole right away but my coach seems confident in me id i just wanted to get other peoples input

Does your school have any 14' or 14'6 poles? You are not only unlikely to succeed going from a 13'6 pole to a 15, but there is a good chance you will be injured.
