While the greatest pole vault event in the world happened in Reno, the Scandinavians had their happening in Gothenburg.
In the middle of Scandinavia's largest shopping center, the pole vault carneval took place from January 16. to January 22. More than 100 athletes from 6 countries competed.
Highest of all was Rasmus Jørgensen from Denmark with 5.50. Given that it is only 7 meter to the ceiling it looked spectacular. Another six jumpers jumped higher than 5 meter.

Re: Gothenburg Pole Vault Carneval, Jørgensen 5,50meter
Great event. Good crowd, lots of PB's and lots of friendships are created. Had a nice chat with Steve Rippon. Jax Thoirs from Scotland, 1993, had 3 jumps over 5m during the week. The highest, 5,10m, is a scottish junior record.
