Paweł Wojciechowski had an accident in training a few days ago, which resulted in the pole breaking his zygomatic bone He's already had surgery on it, and will have to take a month off from training. He says it will not seriously affect his Olympic preparation, but I'm guessing we might not see him compete indoors this winter.

I heard he was jumping from two steps pole slipped out of his hand and smashed him in the face. No break.

The dude literally cracked his skull. Good thing it is a well known fact that chicks dig scars.

Re: Wojciechowski injured
Anyone know if he has had any other injuries holding him back? He has not jumped 5.72 this year, and I hear Poland will not let him go to the Olympics unless he jumps it by July 30.

Poland decided to take him to the Olympics anyway, even though he has not made 5.72 this year (their demand). I saw somewhere he has some sort of leg injury bothering him?

Re: Wojciechowski injured
Im on vacation in Poland now and i saw on the news that his bicep got bruised while vaulting. Im pretty sure it was his bicep. Im not really an expert in human anatomy in Polish. But now he is back to his usual training. All we can do is hope hes back to top form for the qualifiers and cheer him on to gold.

Sounds like he has been pretty banged up this year!
