Sorry for making a new post on an old topic but I need a simple question answered
Are the older altius poles legal? And if they are can you give me the link to an official website or document I can reference if the use of these poles is ever challenged?
The wieght ratings engraved in the pole are in contrasting color and above the top hand grip and 3/4" thick.

Yes the older poles are legal as long as the color is still contrasting and there is still a max handhold band.
There's no reasoning with an irrational official. The best defense is the rulebook. The rules that mention stickers only say that engravings cannot supercede stickers, they do not say that a pole MUST have a sticker, only that it MUST have 3/4" numbers, contrasting color, and max handhold band.
