Re: Dutch training video
Tamminga is a great gymnast, and it shows in his vault! Lots of interesting, unusual pieces of equipment that he uses in the gym ... all great PV drills!
Note to meeisgood: If your highbar is too low, you can still use it for leg lifts, like the first drill you see here.
I like the excercise ball on the wall ... that's a great drill!
I hadn't seen the one where he bounces off a bungee into a handstand ... nice!
Even the very simple drill of rolling on your back on the mat into a spotted handstand ... and then falling back on the mat (as if you're flying over the bar) ... has great applicability to the PV!
I like the way he teaches the rope drills. Right on! But on the rope climbs, I'd suggest doing them upside down ... better applicability to PV, IMO.
The only one I didn't get is where the vaulter must follow his fingertips around, as they face each other.

Re: Dutch training video
The sad thing is that we dont have access to a gym of equipment like these. Their is one gym but i would have to go their on my own time and honestly, i think im going to. maybe ill mention it to another pv so we can train together. I really just wanna get better and basically will do anything. its hard when you dont really pv all indoor season, outdoor will be much better

Re: Dutch training video
I'm guessing that the fingertip-follow-game has something to do with changing the focus. You need a narrow external focus for polevaulting and you will also need a narrow external focus for the fingertip following.
I'll ask Christian this weekend at a meet.

It looked like the person following had his eyes closed. That would make the drill be a good physical body awareness and focus exercise. That's just a thought.
