Leg guard for vault?
So I'm looking for help. On my inversion to shoot phase of my vault, somewhere along the line im hitting my leg on the pole. Now it doesn't affect my jump, but my leg is bruising and getting a sort of burn from the pole. Its on my left leg (trail leg) and its on the outside right below the knee. I was wondering if there is any sort of small but effect leg pad i can get to prevent the rubbing. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

They have those shin splint braces that are just shin sleeves. That might help you.
Thanks,

Thanks, I've just looked into them and they seem a little too big for what i need. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the vaulter in this video is wearing. Its around 1:39 but its exactly where I'm scraping my leg and i think it would be sufficient. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-R71E5apKZg

That is something along these lines: https://secure.cho-pat.com/products/pro ... ct_type=26
But I think that would be a bad idea for a healthy knee.
I used to rub mine in the same place. Solution: Wear tights (long spandex). I realize you are probably male, but Brad Walker does it, therefore it's cool.

Yea I'm pretty sure it's just a tendon brace.
Thanks,

Yes, I have the perfect solution for you here... http://www.trackandfieldstuff.com/k9.html. This knee sleeve is VERY lightweight, has a very low-profile pad built in and is not very expensive. I have them in stock if you are interested.

Re: Leg guard for vault?
Morning, I use an elbow brace made w/ material similar of a wet suit.... It stays nice and tight, and works really well... It is a tick smaller than what is shown above, and it doesn't cover the knee, just sits high on the calf.
I would recommend it, the outside is thick spandex and the inside is rubber.
If I vault without it I rip up my leg, while wearing it my leg has not had any problems...
