So, hows the adjustment going for y'all aka Follow Up
This question is to freshman (like myself) who are in the new college enviornment or to any of you who transferred to a new college...
For me, it has been one big adventure on all levels not just the pole vault. I like it a lot!!
For the polevault, i've kinda learned to be more dependant upon myself for answers, although i do get some tips from my team mates from time to time. Sometimes they bicker alot amongst each other but its all good, we function like a family! I must admit, i have a long way to go before i can say i'm finally "comfortably" settled with vaulting at MU(Marquette University)
Our first meet is soon and i can't wait. We get our uniforms when we get back from thanksgiving.

Don't worry liz, things will smooth out. Last year we only had 4 vaulters, now we have 8 so practice is a little wild.....as soon as nick comes back things will change. He will bring his video camera, and i can look at your vault in slow motion and figure out what has been bugging be about it. There is something small that is causing you to lose alot of height. We'll have it figured out by the time it counts.

Aw, thanks Zach,
Well the last practice I figured it out once i got back to my dorm, my freaking step was under and sometimes even tho our roll-out runway shifts, give or take a shoe or two every time we have a vault practice, I'm always having to adjust my step because the mark on the runway isn't consistent, so its just more of me getting used to that, and yes i can't wait to see a video of my jump. But i'm not bummed tho, its still very early in the season, and every vault day i've had so far has been awesome! I"m learning something new even though i don't vault well, its exciting

Is it possible for you to mark your step on the floor along side the runway? That's what we do to avoid the problems of a shifting roll-out runway.

For sure. That is what I do. The walls and floor never move. I need to do a better job of telling the underclassman the way we do things. My bad Liz. Nick and PK do it too, but kristen is reluctant.......Liz, don't let us forget to meause out the step on Monday or Wednesday.

i was told we couldn't touch the floor because the athletic administration wouldn't like it... There aren't any cues for me to go by where my mark is, i've tried believe me.
I'm not trying to complain, or dog out our program by any means if thats whats coming across through this post, Zach, but definately i appreciate you!

An idea for you
ever hear of a thing called a measuring tape. Every day you jump remeasure your steps then it doesn't matter if the boards shift. Good luck and keep with it.
