Hill named Academic All-American

Junior pole vaulter Aaron Hill has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America second team, it was announced on Wednesday. Hill, a native of Ben Wheeler, Texas, is majoring in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He earned CoSIDA Academic All-America third-team honors in 2003-04.
Hill placed second in the pole vault at the America East outdoor championship, clearing 14’9, on May 7-8 in Binghamton, N.Y. He cleared a season-best 15'7 in the pole vault while winning the Brown Invitational April 16.
During the indoor season, Hill placed second in the pole vault at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games with a height of 14'6. He finished fifth in the pole vault (15’0) at the America East Championship.
Hill won the America East indoor pole vault in 2002-03. At America East Championships in 2003-04, he took third indoors and third outdoors in the pole vault. Has a career-best of 15’11 in the pole vault.
