Stevenson keeps Pole Vault in the headlines - Modesto
Sunday 8 May 2005
Modesto, California - As has so often been the case in the recent history of the Modesto Relays, the Pole Vault took centre stage, as Olympians Toby Stevenson and Jillian Schwartz put on dazzling displays for the capacity crowd in the cozy stadium at Modesto Junior College at the 64th edition of the meet.

Alright! Good job for Toby at 5.85! With his last few 5.65 performances, I was wondering when he was going to start getting up there, since summer is nearing. I didn't know he was going to go up 20cm in one meet, though. Nice!
Great job to Russ as well at 5.75. That's an excellent mark coming off that achilles problem. I think it is Russ's time to start jumping what he's capable of, which is much higher.
5.75 is great for an injured mark in May, though. Good job, Russ!
