Pole Vault Body

Unread postby roxxboxx » Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:12 pm

I'm a upcoming senior in high school. Unfortunately, I just started vaulting this past track season, and my personal best is nine feet. I started training with a pole vault coach this summer. In so many words, he so told me I need to lose some weight and get more lean, to get any better in the vault. I'm 5'4 and about 135lbs. I wanted to know , what exercises or training I can do to get the "vaulter's body". ex. what areas i need to get stronger, and more lean. I can only bench press about seventy lbs. This fall, ill be doing cross country, so I'll be losing weight. But I want to get more muscle and core stability.

I never lost weight when I did cross country... it sounds like you need a combination of eating better and more exercise. Do a search on here for diet. You probably don't need to cut calories, but you probably need to be putting better food in your body.
