I have only been involved with pole vaulting for a few months, but today I learned something that might be the strangest rule I have ever heard of. A couple of weeks ago, my daughter was competing in a meet in Florida. It was chilly and breezy, so she was wearing a wide Adidas headband to keep her ears warm. One of the officials told her to remove it "because it is too wide".
I have looked through my rule book, but I can't seem to find this one.

The width of the headband shouldn't matter, as long as it is one color, the logo is not too big, and the stitching is the same color.
At least they didn't try to DQ her.

It's Adidas, white with a small, pale pink logo, sort of like this, only wider to cover the ears:
