does anyone else think that isinbeyeva has lost a little bit of the really good middle phase of her jump. she doesn't seem to be swinging as well to me. still obviously jumping well, and i guess im only judging by the one jump they have on the usatf website of her 4.80 jump.. but it just seems off through middle compared to classic isi from 2 years ago.

just my thoughts.. how about yours

Brian,

that is actually exactly what I thought when I was watching her live on WCSN. She looked like on the last jump at 5.02 especially, she had a really nice takeoff but couldn't manage to really swing through the middle like she used to. She had plenty of pole and plenty of grip to manage that bar, but the middle of her swing looked like it had a little hitch in it, where she slowed the swing down. If she regains this part of her jump, however... LOOK OUT!
