Walnut- Giovanni Lanaro set a personal best today in the pole vault. He broke the Mexican National Record today with a leap of 5.81 while competing at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Not only was it a Mexican outdoor national record, it was also the Meet record and Stadium record.

It was a very special day. Weather was a bit chilly (for so-cal that is) very slight tail wind. Gio was rock-solid all day. with most makes on his first or second attempts.

He's been working real hard for this and finally got it. Way to go GIO!

GIO's jumps were all very clean.
It was great facilities and the conditions were a bit cold
GIO will be jumping alot higher
I see 6 meters in his jumps
