When is a tough one. There are meets every weekend from January through May. What about sometime in June or July? I guess it would really hinge upon the elites travel schedule, since they would be the main draw to the meet. Toss some ideas out and I'll start researching venues.

June July or even early August is really the only option, although unless you want to pay a large amount of money, you won't get the top 7 anyway. I think you can put together a pretty tough field without them. This is sort of the concept anyway. So I wouldn't think of those guys cause even if it were a perfect time. LB
elite fricks
i think Lon has a good point of excluding the elite chumps. i think vaultstock could be just as successful with out them. the big boys are to picky, cost to much, and have time constraints. i think the meet should be marketed to high schoolers, masters and everybody inbetween. you could even have a section of 1st timers. start the bar at like 2' and work it on up. i think it will be important to have music entertainment. you would want to draw a more diverse crowd then just pole vault enthusiasts. "hippie" kids like to spend money on music. Get on every vault website to advertize. maybe hook up some links to a vaultstock website. ya gotta make it a party though.

Sounds good to me. Come up with a prioritized checklist of logistics that need to be taken care of, and we'll divide up the legwork. Here's a few ideas:
Date
Place
Vaulting equipment needed
Bands
Stage?
Restroom Facilities
Food
Security

Officiating

I would be willing to play.....for free. However I have little band experience, but I can play some cool solo stuff. I am a bonafied Monte Montgomery poser. Kris, crash, and BZ can attest. Looking forward to a great time.
