Its a toss up in my book between Travis (T-Bone) Beck and Lee (Rat *******) Fletcher I have seen them both whip out some nasty 200's in the SC state meet. Palmetto Pear also has some wheels but thats only when the cross country recruits are watching.......

Trey (who can't post at the moment cuz of AOL problems) says he has seen a video of Eric Eshbach (sp.?) vaulting and that he can bring it.

How many of you have run a 100m or 200m FAT in a meet?

Fastest collegians.......hmmmmm. I would say Brian Hunter. That guy had some blow! Although It is hard to objectively say who is fastest without the figures. One thing I do know.......just because someone turns there legs over real fast or can run a 10.2 doesnt mean there automatically going to jump high. It totally helps, but it dont mean you'll be fast with a pole! Jomrus.....I am Fairbanks. 5th year senior at SWT. good luck at NC's.

remeber what i told u last week, they take like the top 24 or so and ur stll like 12 or 13. ur going!

com'n chris you know better than that. Last year they took the top 16 vaulters. No way there gonna take up to 24 or so.

i was taking into consideration the all the ties at 5.25. But i guess it doesn't really matter cause i still was right, John ur in make an impression.

i calculated my speed in meters per second

heres what i got so far i had two figures from two different runs. the math my be a bit spotty :no:

, but i tried my best. i used my check step (2 strides from takeoff) and my takeoff. the diffence was 26 ft = 7.9248m. it took me from 51.9333s to 52.7666s to take off. a diference of .8333s. it took me .8333s to cover 7.9248m, that is 9.51 m/s.

this may not be accurate, but if we are to find the fastest vaulter we must each figure our own speed in m/s. im gonna retest again to see if i get similar results. If anyone has sugesstions for getting a more accurate measurement post them.
