yeah, you shouldn't get tanked the night before you jump (but i'm one to talk ;) )

I actually used to have a couple beers the night before competitions my last year in school. I always used to get so fired up about jumping the next day that I couldn't sleep and would be tired the next morning from not getting enough sleep. I started knocking back a couple of nice, dark beers to relax and make myself sleepy. The trick is to drink at a leisurely pace in a quiet setting. No parties! As soon as you start feeling a little tired, finish you beer, go drink a couple big glasses of water, empty your bladder, then hit the sack. Solid 8-10 hours guaranteed. After you wake up, keep drinking water until you get to the competition.

**DISCLAIMER** - I am not condoning or reccommending this to anyone. Folks under 21 shouldn't drink. ;) This worked for me, but there are other ways to relax the night before a meet.

I saw some kids sitting and hanging out in the elevators where the chairs were.

Due to the fog in Reno and the Boston Blizzard, I got "stuck" ;) in Reno for 2 extra days. I didn't get home until midnight on Tues./Wed. I just kept my room at the Hilton. Luckily, they only charged me $50 for each of the extra nights.
