Of course, the vault gets more dangerous with a faster run-up, and unless the pole you are using is very small for you, it takes at least 4-5 lefts to get the pole to bend. That being said, the athlete is assumed to be going 'fast'.
After writing that, it just occurred to me that it is a problem of control, not necessarily biomechanics (but of course that roots it). If the pole is not 'perfect', then if the athlete is not perfectly behind the pole, then it could shoot them anywhere.
But what is a 'perfect' flexible pole to do a Jagodin? Why is it different for a regular vault? Or is it!?
