Pit ruling?

Kansas Relays now uses a board runway set up in the middle of the football field. It is a set-up, especially with the turf field. It rained inches last year and an hour later the turf was dry! No runway drainage issues there.

Actually, I've seen "near-misses" a number of times where someone will hook the crossbar and send it sailing towards the rear of the pit onto the track. I videotape all the meets I work and some of the close ones would be spectacular if the timing was off by about .1-.2 seconds! But it still beats getting hit by a javelin or discus . . . :P
