Now I know that doing this changes the way the pole works, but we had a 16'1" that got damaged when being shipped. Only about the top 5 inches are cracked. I am looking to cut it off to make it a 15'6" pole then have it tested.
My question is, any certian saw I should use to make the cleanest cut???

You should always inspect poles when they arrive (though I am sure it was some random person at your school that accepted it...). The shipping companies have insurance. If they damage it, just don't accept it and they have to cover it.
That's how it works for new poles that the manufacturer ships anyway.

a wet saw works the best they are about $125.00 if you do not wish the expense you cna use a hack saw.
But I would try to file a claim.
not sure what side you are cutting if the butt do not use thepole if you cut more than 3 inches, if it is the top not more than 6 inches!
I really do not recommned you use a pole that has been altered,it does some funny things to the areas that support the pole from blowing up
and most states will not allow an altered pole to be used in competition.
