Need a reccomendation
Ok, I am going to be running cross country and I'm still going to vault. This will be my second year and up until now I have just used other people's spikes. So if you could give me any suggestions on what kind of spikes to buy that would be suitable for distance running and vaulting.

ACVault, i wouldn't recomment vaulting in distance spikes or runnin is sprinting spikes. They are made totally diffrent, the wedge for jumping spikes is used to stabalize your foot at take off and spikes are made to be worn only some distance at on race. Also, for distance spikes, the spikes plates are elongated since ur stride and gait make ur run totally toe to heel (proper distance form). Now, the only thing i can recommend is seeing u will be vaulting in loyola, but a nice pair of waffles so u can run XC and u can jump at loyola seein u cant wear spikes and then carry around jump only spikes for PG county and other meets where we have rubber (waffles come in handy at MSJ seein the layer of rubber is...well not there)

You can jump in cross country spikes. They'll be better than regular flats. I'd recommend them since you are more of a beginner and might not be ready to spend money on different pairs. Also, your feet might still be growing, so it might be best to save your money for next year, and wait until you are a junior and senior.

I actually PR'd at our 1st outdoor meet this year in a pair of 14 yr. old CC spikes..my brother-in-law had given them to me, and it was raining, so I didn't want to get my new PV spikes wet
...as long as there's enough support, I'd rekon they'll be fine

I would agree with u for the most part...BUT ACVault, u gots some great hook ups seeing u know adam and tony. U can go to hallibird (tony's friend owns it) or Falls Road Running store (adams friend owns that) and get some sweet deals, like prolly spend 50 bucks or less to get 2 pairs, waffles and outdoor ones. Also, their is some talk that u may not be using loyola nemore after the incident of spikes on their track (hence loyola relays were cancelled.)

I vault in cross country spikes! I have a nice new pair of pv spikes, but some old cross country spikes my coach gave me at the beginning of the indoor season were crazy comfortable, plus the extra padding is nice since i tend to not land on the mats at times.. so i kept jumping in them.. They blew out at the state meet, but iv got another pair of nike distance spikes im using now
poor neglected pv spikes..

What have you done today to get better?
