New Essex Vaulting Poles

New Essex Vaulting Poles
If you are looking for a really competitive vaulting pole, you might want to try the new Essex poles. I had vaulted on the Fibersport poles back in the late 70's and early 80's. There was something special about the light fiberglass and higher bend in the poles.
My son recently started vaulting in September, moving through poles very rapidly. While watching the slow motion video of his practice sessions, we noticed the extremely low bends in the Pacer and UCS poles. I thought we would try the new Essx brand, so we purchased three new poles. My son was able to immediately raise his grip and consistently has been vaulting his grip heigth. More noticeably was the nice smooth bend on the poles we noticed on the slow motion video while having the pole still recoil strong and quick.
My son loves the new poles and has recently ordered 2 more as a result of being able to raise his grip and refine his technique with this new design.
Try one.

Irelevant reply.
Obviously the childs take-off has not changed in one practice.
The side by side video analysis in Dartfish shows similar launch.
The statement was not made to hope someone would coach us through a predicament.
We were just commenting on a great piece of equipment.
Put one in your hands and try it yourself!

exactly
and bruce always says that the best pole is the one that is the right size.
and it is possible that a takeoff can change in one practice, especially if a vaulter has better confidence(like from a new pole) or is finally on an appropriately sized pole

IN MOST CASES
IN MOST CASES
A low take off will not allow the ESSX pole to perform to its potential. While other brands may be forgiving and allow you to continue to have a level of success from poor technique. (My opinion Essx Promotes proper take off angles )
And these are true statements posted that one can obtain a high takeoff and proper pole bending with other brands within their technique. To do so requires an emphasis on a take angle conducive to the bending angles of the pole you are jumping on and your ability to control the poles actions. ( this comment is about vaulting poles 15 in length on down)
(PS ZACK while your generalization is correct An ESSX pole cannot bend low based on the design concept and stiffness of the butt of the pole. It will just not come back as strong if you hold too high or drive too flat)
Thank you Mr. Rose for your postings of approval and kind words about our product.
I see from the videos you have posted your son has improved greatly and is moving up poles progressively. (10'8" 100 to 13'-160 within 3 months?)
As your statements on here reflect the level of ability of your son and in comparison to those of the same caliber, you are correct. And those who are commenting are correct also based on the level and caliber they are referring to. While the two may not be the same you can benefit, as you have experienced, from the use of our poles as follows:
1. Using ESSX poles will allow a better progression from pole to pole smoothly.
2. Now that one starts to bend the pole it is a bending one can build a technique with.
3. While it is true that one could have a low take-off, you instantly know with an Essx pole, as it will not return to vertically as a smooth transition.
4. Similar to the Fibersport pole they are, however we have come along way since then with the input of the new design concept developed by Earl Bell.
5. We do have a design that helps the athlete bend the pole to our concept of "vaulter needs", something we feel the others are not aware of in High School poles. A higher potential bend or in otherwords as stiffer bottom to keep the pole moving rather than striking the pit and destroying pole swing/ vaulter swing.
As you have experienced it is a feel and a ride you have to feel or see to know and to understand.
We look forward to working with you in the future for your sons needs and stand ready to continue to produce a quality pole.
I did enjoy the music and the humor in your video as well as seeing how well your son has progressed. I hope that you approve of me posting the link so others can enjoy and see the progression of the three vaults on the your sons video labelled VIDEO.wmv

Fact versus Opinion
Ok Bruce - you can post your opinion on ESSX poles - but a few points should be noted -
1. Usings someone elses logon name in your avatar is a bit much even for you.
2. In three months he went up 60 lbs in pole weight - he either put on a lot of weight - or is jumping on poles that are over 60 lbs heavier than he is - or he was vaulting on poles lighter than he weighed - or the pole progession you state is not accurate.
"1. Using ESSX poles will allow a better progression from pole to pole smoothly." This is an opinion - just like when it was used by another manufacturer for the last couple years - it can be based on research as theirs was - but it is opinion based on comparisons to other products.
PS: It is great to see a young vaulter progress - hope it continues and he enjoys the sport for many years to come. Mr. Rose you should rightly so be proud of his progress
