ABOUT FRAGILE FIBERGLASS VAULTING POLES AND FREIGHT

There were more poles in RENO at the summit than one company can make in a three-month period.
:star:
Anyone want to estimate how many vaulting pole were there in Reno that weekend??? And many athletes were carrying poles for other people.

In an effort to minimize weight many people took their poles to the RENO meet without any individual protection and all in one large bag or tube.

I understand that removing a cardboard tube and especially our PVC tube will reduce the weight tremendously.

What you risk is potential pole breakage.

I had heard of 5 poles (Various Brands no pole bashing here) that broke during use during the meet and warm-ups,
Not bad for as many poles that were at the meet and as much airfreight that was done to get the fragile implements to the meet.

Many of the poles broke into 4-5 pieces this is more directed at overstress than freight damage.
IF any of them broke at one place on the pole or into only 2-3 pieces this is a result, most of the time from a damaged to the pole.

We think the PVC is a start, but they weigh about 7-8 lbs with the pole inside.

Anyone have any ideas to protect the pole and lighted the baggage too???? :yes:

A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....

Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.
