Renting poles

Unread postby mjaubbs40 » Thu Feb 21, 2008 2:25 pm

I've noticed a handful of clubs that rent poles, either to club members only or to anyone.
I'm curious what people think about renting poles--from both sides, renter and rentee.

I rent them for $10 per pole per day to club members, $15 per pole per day to non-club members. They have to sign a contract agreeing to pay full replacement catalog cost if they break it, regardless of the condition it is in. The rental price ensures that they get them back quickly (usually the same day or the day after the meet) so they don't run the bill up.

I try to encourage people to buy poles outright or join my Pole Exchange Program instead as it's a better return on the investment.

ive rented my poles for the past two years and think it is a great idea because it is about $100 a pole for the entire season (indoor and outdoor) and you can change them in as many times as you want to as you get better. i watch people in my confrence that use thier school poles start the season off strong but as they get better and faster they start to blow through their poles so that they need a bigger one. the only problme is their school has no more poles and will not buy them so the athleate acculay gets worse as the season goes on. so the more poles available to you the better and some schools just arn't willing to buy hundreds of poles to accomidate vaulters of diffrent sizes and ablilities.
