Sunglasses?

Sunglasses?

I'm new to polevaulting, but I'm curious as to how sunglasses help when pole vaulting. I know some who vault with sunglasses at indoor and outdoor meets, at outdoor meets, and some who don't wear sunglasses. Anyone want to give their opinion on sunglasses when vaulting?

What I got from that is to keep the sun and dust out of your eyes. Any other purposes?

Personaly I like to vault and run in the oakly half jakets... they stay on really well... They are usefull if its sunny out... HOWEVER you just look kinda odd wearing them indoors.... but if your a 18 foot vaulter, you jump high enough to sport them...

They wear them 'cus they think it's cool. Little do they know... I also see many of the suburban kids jumping with baseball hats on. Personally i think both glasses and hats while doing PV is a stupid idea, but w/e.

Although I think there should be a height requirement before your cool enough to vault with glasses. ;)

I vault with a hat on. whats so stupid about it?

I'm not sure if anyone else who wears contacts has the problem, but occasionally while running down ANY runway, my eyes water alot.

There have been a few occasions when I wished I had them on to help out my eyes.

Regardless, half-jackets are the ticket. :yes:
