The best place to watch elite videos

Unread postby vault3rb0y » Sat Dec 22, 2007 11:01 am

I am being told by many great coaches to check out some of the unique and great jumps from elite jumpers throughout history. I dont think youtube has them, or at least im not searching for them right, so i was wondering where some of you guys get your source for all these different jumpers? Jumpers like joe dial, billy olson, warmerdam, etc.

Pole Vault Power would be a great place to host them. It would be nice if we could get them compiled and posted here.

Could we make this an announcement so that everyone sees it right away?

http://www.stabhoch.com/ has an impressive array of PV vids, and most importantly they are in .mov format so you can play them slowly or move them frame by frame so that you can see all the important things that you would normally miss.

Best men to watch, in my opinion, are Bubka (for everything) Tarasov (for everything but the swing-extension transition), and Markov (for the takeoff in particular).

Best women to watch are Feofanova (for everything that happens up to and including takeoff), Isinbayeva (for everything that happens after takeoff), Rogowska (everything but the over-the-bar part), and sometimes Pyrek.

I'd have to agree with that. But there aren't too many real 'historical' vaulters on that site, and stabhoch sometimes jams my computer...

DJ tried to burn me a CD with vaults from all of the old Olympics, but it didn't work. We'll have to try again.

Its not too hard to find jumps from the bubka, isi, etc. The best of the best are all out there. Im kinda interested in seeing unique techniques employed by guys who still managed to jump pretty high, considering their physical limitations and technical adjustments.

What about a page in the 'links' section of the site?

I am working on converting all the links pages to message board pages so that it just links here and people can keep them updated.
