Swing and Turn

Unread postby polevaulterhere » Sat May 05, 2012 11:36 am

This is my first year and my last year vaulting. I've been vaulting consistently at 6.6 but I really want to get to 7.6 by the end of the season in a couple of weeks, unfortunately. I have no real coach, even though there is a senior who has been vaulting for four years who helps the other vaulters but not me. Not sure why so I was hoping someone here could help. I simply have no clue how to improve my form, and how to get vertical. What are some drills could I do? Also I have about a ten foot pole, and I was wondering if I should use a bigger pole, but I've heard before one my issues is going to the right. And with a longer pole its harder to stay straight correct? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
