I wanted to let you know about a couple of great competition opportunities in our area.
Friday, May 20th - Night Flight (Downtown Windsor Street Pole Vault Event) 5:30pm PV start
Saturday, May 21st – Running Factory Windsor Open (full athletics stadium competition) 6:00pm PV start
On Friday May 20th starting at 5:30pm we will hold our annual Night Flight competition on the busiest downtown street of our city Windsor, Ontario in Canada. We are connected to the city of Detroit by the Detroit River, and both competition sites are literally seconds away from the border crossings at the bridge and the tunnel. In Windsor, we are known for such things as a hot summer climate, Ceasar’s Casino and concert Colosseum, a beautiful long waterfront park walkway, and some of the world’s greatest pizza. Athletes will enjoy a great competition in front of the whole city along the shops, restaurants, and bars of our main street. We will have an exciting and fun atmosphere for all of the spectators, along with music and announcers, with having the athlete’s priorities at the center of the competition all day and night. Our IAAF legal raised runway is first class with a Mondo Super-X surface spanning the complete 140 feet with a four foot width that is praised heavily each time it is used.
The following night on Saturday, May 20th we will hold our annual Running Factory Windsor Open Competition at our University Stadium. This is one of the best competitions held each year in Canada and always rates high on the world competition rankings because of many high performance competitors attending. We usually have well over a dozen Olympic and World Championship competitors in all events. We have a reputation for the most well run meets, the top officials and timing Company which are called frequently to many major competitions in the US. Our stadium has held the Pan Am Junior Championships where we broke the record for spectator attendance over three days, as our city is known as Tracktown Canada, and also holds the current and multiple National University Track and Field Championship team. Our pole vault area at the stadium is all Mondo Surface including the warmup areas, has four runways and two setups of mats in each direction for easy wind options. We have a competition ready indoor track meters away from the outdoor, which can hold a competition at the drop of a hat if weather requires it.
This would be a great opportunity for you to get one or even two excellent performances during this important season, as you can come for our fun, exciting Night Flight Street competition, and then stay the night to get another stadium competition the following evening.
We would love to host you and help you attain your season’s best performance. Please contact us with any questions you may have and we will get back to you immediately.
