McEwen and Shuying had some great attempts at 4.55m. Conditions were decent. Very light winds, and warm.
Unfortunately for the guys, it cooled off a bit, but the wind was still good. I was just getting over being sick, and only cleared my first bar. Still took home some $.
Just a heads-up for next year... it would be great to have some US vaulters on the men's side again. I'm not sure what happened to Matt Phillips, Sean Brown, etc., but it would be great to have those guys back. Besides being great guys, they up the prize money when it's "international". This is a great venue to vault! 5000+ people in the stands, and we jump in front of the grandstand. Usually a tailwind, this is where I PR'd last. In case you're not convinced, the prize money usually goes... $1000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd, $500 for 3rd, plus an additional $1000 for the best performance from all field events (MPV, WPV, MJT).
Here's the website again, for anyone who is interested...
