MOSCOW, August 19 (RIA Novosti, Anna Olkhovaya) - The coach of the world pole vault champion Yelena Isinbayeva dismissed reports Friday that she has been tapped to promote the Russian oil company Sibneft.

Yevgeni Trofimov denied the rumor, but expressed interest in striking such a deal with the oil major.

A few Russian media reports earlier this week speculated that Sibneft CEO Roman Abramovich offered the high-profile athlete a million-euro one-year contract to promote the company.

Isinbayeva won the gold at the recent World Athletics Championship in Helsinki, Finland, and set a new world record in pole vaulting at 5.01 meters.
