With champion Olga Dugadko on maternity leave, Moran Azizi stepped in to take the women's pole vault event, scoring a personal record of 3.92 meters. Gillian Schwartz of the United States, who took fourth in the U.S. Championships last week, logged the highest score ever recorded in Israel at 4.42 meters. Israeli officials are trying to convince Schwartz to stay in Israel permanently following this month's Maccabiah Games.
