Carsten Schlangen sets a new World leading
1000m.

The 15th Stadionfest Meeting in Königs Wusterhausen (GER) saw German Middle Distance specialist Carsten Schlangen run a World leading 2:17.44 1000m race.
There were other German triumphs for Michael Mollenbeck in Discus (62.11m) and Martina Strutz in Pole Vault (4.50m meeting record and Olympic standard, although this was not an Olympic qualification event).
