Such has been the promotional assault by Channel Seven no-one who watches the smallest bit of TV could possibly not know the latest series of Gladiators will launch this Sunday.

The number one network has not only been running advertising on air but has subjected entertainment journalists to a barrage of press releases beginning in October last year.

Star Gladiator recruits include Australian Olympic pole vault Silver medallist Tatiana Grigorieva, appearing as ‘Olympia’, and former Carlton Captain Anthony Koutoufides with the avatar ‘Kouta’, an ancient Greek God.

The show also features a range of other well muscled Gladiators like ‘Amazon’ an 80 kilogram warrior woman who ‘lives for the fight’ and ‘Thunder’ who at 137 kilograms is the biggest Gladiator ever.

As well as games from the previous series of the show like Gauntlet, Hang Tough and Pyramid new ones include Whiplash, Sumo Ball, and Vertigo.

Challengers fight Gladiators to advance in the competition. Eventually Challengers go head to head to win. The final two receive $50,000 and a car.

The show, which has already been completely filmed, will be hosted by Tom Williams and Zoe Naylor.

All Gladiators and Challengers were tested for performance enhancing drugs before the show.

Gladiators will air at 6.30pm this Sunday the 30th.
