In the women's comp, 12 ladies cleared the auto standard to make the final. Do you think 12 guys will clear the auto standard of 5.75 here?

What does it take to be able to watch it? Is it like coverage at many meets, pole vaulting being something they show as a last resort?

wcsn.com is oretty good. Obviously not even close to all the jumps, but a hundred times better than American TV. It helps that there are only a few events going on each night.

19:35 : Two groups of pole vaulters are getting ready for qualification in that event at the north end of the stadium, with the opening height being 5.40m.
19:36 : They'll go to 5.55m, then 5.65m and 5.70m before reaching the automatic qualification height of 5.75m.

After first attempts at 5.40, we have clearances by Poljanec (yeah!), Lukyanenko, Rans, Liu, Korchmid, Burgess, and Hartwig. Everyone else either pass or miss.

They showed video of Gio's third attempt miss. He looks like he hit the takeoff funky and bails out. He is understandably pissed!

Ecker, Walker, Jeng make 555. Clavier, Yurchenko miss.
