Roslinda has qualified for the Beijing Olympics under category B.
The mark Roslinda has to beat to make it under category A is 4.45m and she has until July 28 next year to meet the deadline set by the IAAF.
UNLESS she improves her qualification vault of 4.30 metres, Roslinda Samsu will remain as she is under the national programme and not be upgraded into the Olympic Games incentive scheme.
The pole-vaulter from Kuala Nerang, silver medallist in the Asian Games in December, will have to make the cut as a category A qualifier in order to come under the scheme.
As it is, Roslinda has qualified for Beijing under category B in the Kazakhstan Invitational on June 11 and has been advised by Sports Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said to try and break into category A, which she can achieve in four more competitions this year.
“She will not enjoy the benefits under the scheme because it is only for athletes who meet the category A qualification criteria. We have to be consistent with every athlete and not make any exceptions,â€Â
