The bar didn't stay at 4.71 too long. Feofanova passed and Isinbaeva missed her first, then passed to 4.76.

With two misses each, but Feofanova leading, Isi is up for her final attempt. High drama!

Well, congratulations to Sveta.

5 bucks says Isi and Petrov make a lot of excuses about how tired she was after the long day at Donetsk and the awards thing the next day and then traveling to Poland.

Well, what should they say? "I'm really happy with 4.61." ?!?

;)

How about, we've learned our lesson about trying to squeeze award ceremonies in between two very closely scheduled competitions ;)

I don't really care what they say as long as they don't try to blame anyone else (like how long Donetsk went). They should say good job to Svetlana, she performed well today! :P

Yes she did. That slow start had me thinking her comeback had stalled out. But now I'm thinking we might have a real rivalry again for the Olympics.

Excerpts from Bob Ramsak's Track Profile Report:

Yelena Isinbayeva's 23-competition win streak came to an end at the Pedro's Cup jump competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland, tonight.

The reigning Olympic, World and European champion from Russia could only manage her opening height of 4.61m (15-1 1/2), before missing once at 4.76m (15-7 1/4) and twice at 4.81m (15-9 1/4), to bow out in a tie for second....

The 25-year-old's streak of 23 was the second longest in the sport, trailing the 25 wins in the 3000m steeplechase by Saif Saaeed Shaheen of Qatar. Next on the list is Croatia's Blanka Vlasic, the world champion in the high jump, who won her 20th straight meet last Wednesday in her home town of Split.

BYDGOSZCZ, Poland: Pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva lost at an indoor track meet Wednesday, only four days after setting her 21st world record.

The Russian cleared 4.61 meters at the Pedro's Cup meet to finish in a tie for second. Former record holder Svetlana Feofanova won the event with a vault of 4.71.

On Saturday, Isinbayeva cleared 4.95 meters at the Pole Vault Stars meet in Donetsk, Ukraine, to set her 10th indoor world record.

After her most successful season in 2005, when she set four indoor and five outdoor world records, Isinbayeva switched to a new coach. She made 14 attempts last season to improve her 5.01 world outdoor record set at the world championships in Helsinki, Finland, in 2005.

But despite the record drought, Isinbayeva still shared the US$1 million jackpot with 400-meter runner Sanya Richards by winning every Golden League meet in 2007.

Oh man, a cheap shot from the Yahoo! Eurosport website.

In an article with the headline Issy run put to an end (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/20022008/58/issy-run-end.html), they've got a photo of her crying, as though she'd thrown a tantrum today in Bydgoszcz. But the photo is actually from Donetsk last year, when she got a little weepy about breaking the indoor record after her long dry spell in '06.
